Park is a disgrace not place for photocall

In the East Staffordshire Borough Council newsletter for March 2010, it showed a photograph of the mayor of East Staffordshire, Councillor Geoff Morrison, opening Hazelwalls Community Park.

If this is the best you can do with public money, then the people who have arranged this photo should have their workload examined.

These council officers get paid thousands of pounds in wages to look after the public interest – which they are not.

Hazelwalls Park is a disgrace – it must be the worst in the Midlands.

People will not take their children into the park, it has too many hills and is not level, there is hardly any grass and if a child falls face down it could be very serious.

There is no fastener on the gates, so if a parent has two or three children, one could pull the gate open, walk six yards, and fall into the little stream. And this is value for money?

Also, one of the paths is loose, showing poor workmanship.

In my opinion, it is about time the council officers should earn their wages properly.
